Who Is Racheal?

Here are a few fun facts not everybody knows.

Rightie or Leftie?
  • I am a leftie, a rare quality, as only 10% of the world's population are.
Sweet or Salty?
  • I prefer salty. But I gotta tell ya, I LOVE a good piece of Chocolate Cake with White Butter Cream Icing every once in a blue moon.
(I like Spanky too. How could you not? Just look at those cute little cheeks!)

Married:
  • I married my best friend in the fall of 2004 and married him again by renewing our vows in 2014.

Kids:
  • I have 2 amazing daughters. Teen and Preteen, let's just say they keep things interesting, lol...

Things You Love:
  • My family.
  • Being a Mom & Wife. I love other things, but without those two roles in my life, all else is pointless.
Hobbies:
Some of my favorite pass times are...
  • Gardening
  • Designing ALL things interior decor. From the decorations themselves to the furniture.
  • Crocheting

  • Photography

  • Coming up with unique recipes.
  • Geneology, I love learning all I can about my roots.
"Trees are strongest when they know they have deep roots."

 ~ R. Norris

  • Painting. I also love making paint. These are a couple I've made.

  • Planning for all major holidays, but especially Christmas.

Do you have hidden talents most people don't know about?
  • Since I was a girl, I have loved to sing. I use to sing in the choir at school, at church, in the car, and in the shower, lol. I've even won a few competitions in the past, but I only perform around the house with my daughters now, lol.
Pets:
  • Drako, our dog, he's a 1-year-old, VERY spoiled Huskie.
  • Pepper, one of our rescue cats we found 3 days after Thanksgiving in 2017, freezing and crying just outside our front door. We brought her in, and she's has been part of the family ever since.
  • Olive, our other rescue, was a very tiny runt of the litter we found wandering around outside our house. After a few tries of trying to feed her, we were finally able to convince her that food was good, and given half a chance, we'd love to guarantee her we'd keep her supplied with it, lol. She finally came to me and has been part of our family ever since.

Things You Fear:

  • Living without God
  • Failing my Family
  • Dying Alone
  • and Balloons. It's true, I'm TERRIFIED of balloons.

Your Hero:
  • My Dad.

Travels:
  • Some of my favorite and earliest childhood memories are traveling to Mexico with my parents to visit the orphanages, delivering toys and food, and spending hours playing with the kids and hearing many of their stories. I loved being with them and sharing the love I could show them while I was there.
  • And I think one of my most favorite, more recent trips was in the fall of 2018, when my husband had a unique opportunity to see 2 very dear family members again.

Family members, he had not seen in over 38 years.

We all met up in Pigeon Forge, TN. For us, it was the first time, and we rented a cabin for a few days.

It was a blast spending time with family, whom our daughters and I had never met, seeing the beautiful smoky mountains, and taking in the sights.

We can't wait to go back!
Favorite Books:
  • My Bible. I enjoy other stories, but my bible always leaves me fed.
  • The Chronicles of Narnia Series - C.S. Lewis
  • Design Books
  • Cookbooks
Favorite Sports Team:
  • Oklahoma University Football Team
One of Your Favorite Lines from a Movie:

  • "As you wish." ~ Wesley, The Princess Bride

How Did Your Childhood Prepare You For Your Job Today?:
  • I first found I had a love for all things creative and decorating when my adopted grandma began teaching me to paint,

and crochet and my adopted grandpa started letting me help with all of his carpentry projects. After that, I was addicted to all things artistic and creative.
Your Best Friend:
  • Jacilyn Helton, without question.
Jackie and I met at Kids Church Camp in the summer of 1996 and have been lifelong friends ever since.

Years later, Jackie introduced me to her boss, thinking we might like each other...5 months later, I married him.👫

And 10 years later, we were so incredibly honored when she agreed to officiate our 10-year wedding vow renewal ceremony.

She is also our oldest daughter's godmother and adopted Aunt Jackie to both our girls.
After all, what else would your kids call your sister from another Mr.?

The Most Unusual Thing in Your Design Studio:
  • Probably my stash of recycled black styrofoam meat packaging trays, lol. They are excellent for paint pallets, mixing colors, stenciling, etc. And are reusable, as you can often just peel the paint right off of them and start again.
A Nickname:
  • "Rach," with most adults. But kids have always called me "Rae Rae."
The Car You Drive:
  • 1991 Jeep Cherokee
When I was 18, I bought my first vehicle at Collins Brother Jeep in Wylie, TX, for $15,000.00 cash. Being a country girl, a car just wasn't going to cut it, lol, and I still have it today. Of course, over the years, everybody has always thought it was Joe's...

Shocker, right? Lol...

So it now bears this custom tire cover Joe got for me...It doesn't really help my argument 😕, as most people just think it's a joke. But the truth is, it is my Jeep. (At least for now...)

  • Antique Wooden Bobbins

What One Accomplishment Are You, Most Proud, Of?
  • My 2 beautiful daughters. Cliché, maybe, but it's true. I am far from a perfect mother, but when I look at who they are growing to be daily, I am proud of the work I have done, for I have NEVER worked this hard on anything in my life.
My Guilty Pleasure?
  • Early in the morning, before anybody else is awake, I enjoy listening to good instrumental music, crafting, and enjoying a good cup of coffee. At the same time, one of my unique incense smells fills the air.
* I'm not a hippy, lol, I just enjoy some of the more unique scents like coffee, pumpkin, Christmas tree, etc.
